Art Clay Magic Moisturising & Storage Pot, deze pot is handig voor het bewaren van klei en het voorkomen van uitdrogen. Iets uitgedroogde klei kan je er mee hydrateren!
Gebruik deze handige Art Clay pot om je metaalklei in te bewaren tijdens het werken en tussen de sessies door, en om droge klei te bewaren en/of weer bewerkbaar te maken.
Hoe te gebruiken:
Plaats je klei op de bodem van de kleihouder en plaats het geventileerde inzetstuk erop. Leg de vochtige spons (meegeleverd) op de inlegger en doe het deksel erop. Klaar. Je klei blijft lang vers en bewerkbaar – blijf controleren of je spons/tissue nat blijft. Zorg ervoor dat de spons vochtig is, maar niet zo nat dat het op de klei druppelt. Zorg er ook voor dat de klei niet in aanraking komt met het geventileerde inzetstuk of de sponsjes, anders wordt het misschien een beetje te nat en papperig.
Instructies voor het rehydrateren van klei:
Als je klei hard en droog is geworden en gerehydrateerd moet worden, gebruik dan beide sponsjes in de pot om zoveel mogelijk vocht terug in de klei te krijgen. Maak een van de sponsjes nat en leg deze op de bodem van de pot. Leg een klein vel teflon op de spons. Hak de droge klei in kleinere stukjes en leg deze bovenop het teflonvel (zorg ervoor dat de klei de spons zelf niet raakt, anders wordt het pasta die aan de spons blijft plakken). Plaats het geventileerde inzetstuk erop en leg de tweede spons (bevochtigd met water) erop. Plaats het deksel erop en sluit het af.
Na een dag of twee is de klei op magische wijze weer zacht en kan het in huishoudfolie worden gedaan om het voorzichtig weer tot een homogene klomp klei te kneden Als de klei niet helemaal zacht is, doe je de klomp er gewoon weer in en laat je hem nog wat langer liggen. Zorg ervoor dat de sponsjes de hele tijd nat blijven. Bij de pot worden twee kleine sponsjes geleverd
Als je dit gebruikt met onedele metaalklei zoals brons en koperklei, kan er een geoxideerde film op de klei komen. Onedele metalen klei kun je het beste zorgvuldig in huishoudfolie verpakken. Je kunt het dan in deze pot doen om de levensduur van de geopende klei te verlengen. Zilverklei en onedele metalen niet samen in dezelfde box bewaren.

Art Clay Magic Moisturizing & Storage Pot, this pot is useful for storing clay and preventing it from drying out. Slightly dried out clay can be moisturized with it!
Use this handy Art Clay jar to hold your metal clay while working and between sessions, and to store dry clay and/or make it workable again.
How to use:
Place your clay on the bottom of the clay holder and place the ventilated insert on top. Place the moist sponge (included) on the insert and put the lid on. Ready. Your clay will stay fresh and workable for a long time – keep checking that your sponge/tissue stays wet. Make sure the sponge is moist, but not so wet that it drips onto the clay. Also make sure the clay doesn’t touch the vented insert or sponges, or it might get a little too wet and mushy.
Instructions for rehydrating clay:
If your clay has become hard and dry and needs to be rehydrated, use both sponges in the jar to get as much moisture back into the clay as possible. Wet one of the sponges and place it on the bottom of the pot. Place a small sheet of Teflon on the sponge. Chop the dry clay into smaller pieces and place them on top of the Teflon sheet (make sure the clay does not touch the sponge itself, otherwise it will become paste that sticks to the sponge). Place the ventilated insert on top and place the second sponge (moistened with water) on top. Place the lid on top and seal it.
After a day or two, the clay is magically soft again and can be put in cling film to gently knead it back into a homogeneous lump of clay If the clay is not completely soft, just put the lump back in and leave it a little longer. Make sure the sponges stay wet the whole time. Two small sponges are supplied with the pot
If you use this with base metal clay such as bronze and copper clay, an oxidized film may appear on the clay. Base metal clay is best wrapped carefully in cling film. You can then put it in this jar to prolong the life of the opened clay. Do not store silver clay and base metals together in the same box.
